What I'm Wearing

top: J. Perse
skirt: vintage (Salvation Army, PA)
necklace: vintage (America's Thrift, B'ham, AL)
bag: vintage (America's Thrift, B'ham, AL)
shoes: vintage (Salvation Army, PA)
sunglasses: H&M

Yesterday was supposed to be the official start of summer and the day definitely lived up to that. The temperatures reached over 80 degrees. While we were out exploring on this beautiful day, we discovered this empty Amish farm. The entire place is for sale and they were having an open house. We were even able to go inside the early 19th century Victorian farmhouse. As I was wandering around the vast rooms, I began to fantasize about buying it and fixing it up. But those dreams were quickly dashed when I looked around and remembered that there was not even any electricity in the house. It was an Amish house after all.

  1. Oh, what a beautiful colour you skirt has. It reminds me of the ocean. And: As usual your pictures are stunning. But especially the last one is so pretty with the blurring. Chapeau!

  5. Is your BF a professional photographer? Your photos have lately been absolutely stunning. That last shot reminds me of a Wyeth painting, or a still from a Hitchcock film...

in yr fshn: Actually, I took these photos! It's all about the tripod and the self timer. :) But to answer your questions, no he's not a professional photographer. We both practice photography as a hobby.

  8. Oh and yes! That photo reminded me a bit of Wyeth as well. Appropriate since I'm in Eastern PA, close to where he lived.

  15. oh, these photos are beautiful!!! (like always!) the day sounds perfect too! did you find any treasures in the farmhouse??

oh, and this is a bizarre question - but is the fabric of your skirt a knit or is it woven?

  18. You look gorgeous- love that necklace.
Growing up in Maryland we would take summer "vacations" to Amish country PA, and it was always very intriguing/alluring in a strange way.

  19. Thanks again for all of your comments!

effie: It's not a strange questions. I'm always wondering things like that. The skirt is woven. The fabric is really light and gauzy and has a subtle pattern in it that you can't see in the photos. If it wasn't so full I would probably need a slip under it.

ilyssa b.: Congrats on starting your own blog. I'll be sure to check it out.
