Summer Finds

I'm really not much of a beach person, but I suppose it's always good to be prepared in life for any situation that might arise. At least that's how I'm rationalizing the need for a vintage swimsuit in my life. I think I can count on two hands the number of times we visited the beach when we lived in LA (and on one, um, finger the number of times I actually wore a swimsuit). But some of our new friends here in PA have pool parties and go floating down the river in inner tubes and participate in other such activities that may, in fact, require me to don a swimsuit. Also required: a large sunhat to protect my shoulders and the highest SPF sunscreen I can find.

  2. the playsuit is so cute. i've got a big straw sunhat i got for cheap from the seaside, i'm planning on customising it with some ribbon (since it came with some tacky animal print ribbon around it!)

  4. haha, I know the feeling! I've seen a lot of cute bathing suits pop up on etsy, but I can't justify buying one because there are more occasions to go to a beach than a pool in my life, and I hate beaches.

  11. Where did you find that swimsuit, was it an etsy find or a thrift? It is so amazing, I love the cut and scalloped detailing. It is basically my perfect suit! I'm jealous. :)

I know it's a bid silly sounding, because I hardly ever comment here. But I remembered your love of vintage swimsuits, and this one is sadly too small for me. Thought I'd share!

  14. floppy hats--yes! I discovered sunhats last summer and now refuse to beach it up without one. They're just too practical (and adorable) to pass up.

  15. If you had an adorable vintage swimsuit, you would probably want to go swimming a lot more. I know I would!
