Bundling Up

Untitled-1
all the pretty birds, Garance Dore, ???, Copenhagen Street Style

Every time I started to get really excited about our trip to NY, my excitement was tempered with thoughts of... what the %&*# am I going to wear?! I don't think we could have picked a colder weekend to be walking around the city and I am not a girl who enjoys being cold. Don't get me wrong... I like cold weather, I just don't like being cold. There's a difference, no? So, into the trusty street style folder I went, sure I'd find some inspiration to keep me from resigning to dressing like an Eskimo.
  • Short dresses, thick tights, woolly coats... I think I can do this! These girls look toasty warm in their layers.
  • OK, there's a little bit of crazy going on in this one but I do love the creative layering.
  • This is my fave and definitely what I'll be going for this weekend. Simple, classy and most of all warm!
  • Oh, the infamous Topshop sailor coat. I was watching one on Ebay that just ended for $264! Yikes! Speaking of Topshop, there's one in NY now. Hmmm... must put that on my list of things to do.

  1. The TopShop coat is such a bummer. Every auction I see ends so high!!

I hope you have an awesome trip! Bring a wool sweater, those things make all the difference under a coat.

  3. I'll be in the city sunday for a concert, tell me what a girl's supposed to wear when there is no place for coats as so as you get inside the venue so you have to hold it the whole time! :(

  6. Some days here are not as cold as others so just bring layers, layers, layers and maybe you'll luck out ad get a not so freezing weekend.

Wool tights are key as regular tights just don't cut it on those frigid windy days. Coats that go past your bum also really help. And a warm hat and scarf!

    Have fun!

  20. I'm a Southern girl, and I can't stand being cold either. To me, there is nothing worse than arctic air blowing up my skirt, so I have to wear pants!

You always look so chic, so I'm sure that all will be well. Take lots of pics and share them with us!
