As you may have already read on Starr's blog and Tieka's blog Canadian designer Eve Gravel has enlisted the help of a handful of bloggers to spread the word of her line to the big ol' US of A (and the rest of the world too!). They sent me a copy of their fall/winter lookbook and let me pick my five favorite items with the promise that they'd send one for me to try out. Fun, huh?!
But I haven't gotten to the most fun part yet... I'll be passing the dress along to one of you lucky gals! I have to admit when I first saw the lookbook I was a bit intimidated by all of the leopard print. I'm not much of an animal print kind of gal. But after staring at the Edge Kate dress for a while, it became my number one pick. While the print is on the bold side, there are lots of little details like the ruffle down the front and the ruching on the sleeves that make it pretty and feminine.

i did have a chance to be introduced to this line through Tieka's site and my answer is still the same: the minute I saw the iva dress in all its pocketed glory, i knew it had to be mine!

I know exactly how you feel about animal prints - when I see them in shops I always end up sighing and putting them back (I'm such a fussy shopper I can never buy anything on a whim... it only ever ends badly!). But this dress is georgeous, and bless my soul you look lovely in it :) I guess my number one pick from Eve Gravel would be the Bee Top, I can never have too many insect references in my wardrobe!

ReplyDeleteThe dress is lovely even though i don't usually like animal prints, they remind me too much of the 80's..this one is very different but in a good way!!The whole collection is wonderful so it was difficult to choose..but i made up my mind for the Heads Will Roll Skirt with Zip Zone!It is pretty simple but could be worn in some many different ways!

I OD'd on leopard print in college (leopard rug, towels, lamps, even a prom dress) and I'm slooowly working my way back into it. I think this dress just knocked me off the wagon.

I really love the dress you're wearing, the animal print is more subtle than most animal prints, which is nice. I also love the "la veuve dress" and the "honey dress".
