One of my longtime sponsors, Loni Vintage, thought it would be fun to giveaway this oversized pair of sunglasses this week and I couldn't agree more. Sunglasses are often neglected as an accessory for winter, but these are perfect for blocking that snowy glare or hiding behind after a night of too many holiday cocktails. All you have to do for a chance to call them your own is leave a comment on this post. Any random thought will do... tell me what you're reading, your favorite holiday indulgence, your pet's name. The first thing that pops into your head!
Hi! You are very beautiful, I think.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love these!
ReplyDeletePet Name: Sar Bear
My random thought is that reading books is so much more fun in cold weather. In summer you feel as though you have to go out and enjoy the sunshine, but in winter, when it is grey and cold outside and the wind is rattling the windowpanes... there is nothing nicer than staying in bed all Sunday morning and reading a really great novel. I know, because that is exactly what I did this morning (complete with hot coffee and pastries).
ReplyDeletelove them <3
ReplyDeletei love everything in retro style <3
although i would wear these to block the glare from the snow...i'm going to bali over xmas and i would LOVE to have a new pair of glasses to wear

ReplyDeleteHere's a lyric for you: "I'd rather be a forest than a street. Yes I would, if I could. I surely would./ I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet."
I was just listening to Simon & Garfunkel. My ears are in love! Happy Sunday!
Love, Benicia
I am very excited to get my first follower for my blog!

I just learned that the closest two languages to English are Scots and Frisian. I have never even heard of Frisian, but it's spoken by 500,000 people-- in parts of Germany, Holland, and Sweden, I think. Fascinating, don't you think? I've been searching the internet to learn about second language acquisition (I want to learn German), and I'm finding so much interesting information relation to language learning.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, those sunglasses rock! And I was just thinking earlier today that I need a pair :) Fingers crossed!
lovely sunglasses!:)
ReplyDeletewell, I'm in Portugal and winter is comming, I'm frozen here! brrrr
OK...first thought: the smell of paperwhites is my favorite scent of the holidays. My mom plants them every single year indoors in the fall so they will bloom around christmas. They're a very fragrant, tiny, white bloom that grows from a bulb.
ReplyDeleteAnd those sunglasses are fabulous :)
love love love big sunglasses, love love love vintage, and my pups name is basil! Thanks for all the great posts!
ReplyDeleteHmm- here's a random thought: I watched The Diving Bell and the Butterfly on my flight to CO this week and I loved it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
The first thing that pops into my head is that think that I don't really understand all the hype about Kayne West's new album. I've heard people raving about it for the past while so I checked it out. I think I could like the music if the lyrics weren't so vulgar. I mean I'm not super straight edge or anything, but there is some abrasive content in that album. I will admit to liking the sound of it though.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm loving the new H&M and Lanvin line. To die for!
Alex (m.alexloewen@gmail.com)
I'm loving these glasses, and am glad I'm the first one to comment...is it enough to secure them, though?! And can they be shipped to the UK?!

ReplyDeleteFavorite holiday indulgence: sugar cookies! I made up my list of Christmas cookies to bake this year (I make enough to give to family and friends) and they were top on my list. I have such a sweet tooth that anything really sugary appeals to me. But sugar cookies are a favorite because they can be decorated to the nines! (One of my favorite parts of holiday baking.) lol.

ReplyDeleteI eat popsicles in the winter.
ReplyDeleteMy random thought is that I'm watching The Rocketeer on Syfy right now for the first time in almost 15 years. And what's great is that I'm able to recognize so many actors in it now that I had no idea who they were when I first saw this movie. It's great! :)

These sunglasses are ah-mazing! If I owned them I would wear them with over the knee boots, black knit leggings and a long beige chunky comfy sweater while indulging in one of my favourite holiday treats. A starbucks speciality christmas drink. Now I love my starbucks in general, but when I see the red cups and am able to order a peppermint mocha I get very giddy. Giddy because they remind me that christmas is coming!

I wish I could have another kid just so i could name him Townes. And I wouldn't let him near these glasses cuz if he's anything like the one I've already got, these beauties would be broken in less than 10.

I used to have a pair of glasses like that! yes, it was my reading glasses not sunglasses. I wore it to my 7th grade class and thought how everyone else look boring in their tiny normal frame. Everyone else thought of me as a lunatic of course, not very fashion forward.:)
ReplyDeleteAs a child my Mother picked me up from pre-school and instead of driving home, we sat in the carpark as Mum modelled her various selection of new sunglasses for me to decide. It was a beautiful Autumn afternoon and I remember the sun rays dancing off the dashboard. It's quite odd that I remembered that, but in case your wondering I chose a light green pair, as it was the early 90s afterall.
ReplyDeleteLove your work as it is a constant source of inspiration.
Elizabeth
I used to dream of these sort of glasses...now i'm crossing my fingers so my dream will come true xxx

thank goodness we get wine at work on wednesdays.
ReplyDeletethose are beautiful! I love wrapping gifts for Christmas-i get a little crazy and everything coordinates-it is a little indulgence for me -with real ribbon, handmade tags...it just looks so pretty under the tree!
ReplyDeleteYou'll get a lot of pet name ones I should think! One of my cats' name is Achtung, german for Warning or Beware or something. My other half suggested it because of the song Achtung, Baby and for some reason I had a brain flunk and thought it was a Radiohead song rather than a U2 song... I wouldn't have agreed to it if I hadn't mistakenly thought that for a second. Now we are stuck with it! Amazingly though it suits him.
ReplyDeleteRandom thought? It goes like this: I really, really don't like winter. That reminds me that I also hate summer. Which may lead to a conclusion I'm kinda moaning minnie or something. But I'm not! I like animals, cats especially. And all those fluffy bear-like ones too. And plushies. You know, I've got two plush dogs - Siegfried and Ulrich. They're just pure awesomeness :D Oh, and hungarian. That's why I'm going to study hungarian filology and start working as translator from hungarian.
ReplyDeleteIs it enough random? I hope so :D
Greets, A.
Oh, hun, seeing these sunglasses You can't think anything else just how AMAZING they are and how FIERCE they would look with different looks. My heart is melting, so super chic they are!

ReplyDeleteLovely shades! Just what I neeeed, during this cold, snowy winter in Oregon. Just so I can pretend the sun is out!
ReplyDeleteSo, so cute! Right now I'm writing an essay. I've found that in War and Peace there is often glittering, glistening, and sparkling meteorological or cosmogonical phenomena, and it is always connected with a character finding solid ground to orient themselves cosmologically and come to a new understanding of something.
ReplyDeleteI hope to sparkle in these glasses!
