Four Ways - Rompers

One of the best things about summer is wearing easy, comfy outfits. No more layers, no more worrying about the cold. A simple way to accomplish this? A romper of course! But how do you get away with wearing a romper without looking like you belong on Romper Room?
  • Since we're not quite into the hot days of summer just yet, I've paired the romper with tights. This works well for a dressier look, finished with a pair of high heeled oxfords and my favorite shrunken blazer.
  • It doesn't get any easier than this! Pair your romper with classic Chucks or Keds, throw on a pair of fun sunglasses and you're ready to go.
  • Staying just this side of too cutesy, pair the romper with a fitted cardigan and matching sandals for a girly look.
  • A day of flea market shopping in the sun? Martinis at lunch with your girl friends? Just match your romper with comfy wedge sandals and a wide brimmed hat and you're off!

Wow, you look great in all four ways. I really need a ropmer for summer!

I was planning to make one last year, in navy blue loop terry with an anchor on the backpocket. I couldn't find loop terry in that colour and that made me so mad I forgot about the whole thing.

I'm really really sorry about you cat :(

Is that blazer a brand called Farah? I picked one up from the little boys section of a thrift store here [Long Island] and I swear its the same exact thing.

Great ideas, my romper is super cutesy (lilac purple and covered in tulips!) So I'll try these out and hopefully I will get to wear that silly thing!

Thanks for your comments! I'm just taking it one day at a time right now. It gets better everyday.

Alex: No way! I checked my blazer and it is the same brand. What are the chances of that?!

love the black hat! where's it from?

Thank you again for your comments!

Wendy: Yes, thrift stores would be a great place to look for rompers. They were really popular in the early 90's so you find a lot of them at Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Fashion Tidbits: The black hat is from Forever21 (I bought it about 2years ago).

I found a really cool white romper with embroidery at the top..but the problem is its too long and i feel like it looks like im wearing a big diaper baby thing when i roll up the bottom... Have any suggestions?

carrie: Sounds like you found a really cute one! I've had the same problem with some of the vintage rompers that I've found. for mine I think I'm going to try hemming the legs. Just cut of a couple of inches from each leg, turn the seam under and sew. If I end up doing it to mine I'll take photos and post them, step by step.

So cute! I've been holding off on getting a romper just yet (but I'm mighty tempted!). You look darling, and your styling is awesome. I really love these four way posts!

I'm usually not a fan of rompers, but I love how you paired it with a red cardigan. Too cute!
