1930's Inspiration

Night before last, after watching one of my all time favorite stylish movies, Bonnie & Clyde, I decided to go online in search of more 1930's inspiration. I know that Flickr is a virtual treasure trove of photos but I've never really done much searching through the archives. Rhiannon is always coming up with the most amazing collections of photos so I know they're out there somewhere. A little digging around turned up this set titled "Grandma 1930s-1940s". What a fabulous sense of style this lady had! I'm especially loving her striped bathing suit and the polka dot dress in the last photo.

Absolutely amazing. I also love the bottom left one, with the little bow and the pleats, and the one above it, another bow at the waist! Such amazing clothes back then... I want a time machine!

I love it! Bonnie & Clyde is one of our favorite for inspiration too. It makes me wish I could pull off a beret like Faye.
Thanks for sharing the photos!

Whoa, at first I thought it was Little Edie Beale in the top right photo! These are so good . . .I absolutely love those little day dresses in the last photos.

wow! fantastic! thank you soo much for posting these. not only are they great inspiration (i simply adore that classic feminine, but not too frivilous flirty style of the 30s), but nicely nostalgic. :) even the title of the album, "grandma in the 1930s" makes me smile

Oh how amazing! By the way I'm sure in 2070 someone else will write a post like this including your today pictures on a blog.
...Or at least on the future equivalent of a blog :-)

Absolutely beautiful. She looks so tiny and doll like. The bottom left picture - the curved hem on that jacket is to die for.

I was also wondering if you would like to exchange links?

I want to go back to that era in a time machine, buy 50 pairs of shoes and then come back.

gorgeous photos! I love the 30's and 40's playsuits! I wish they were easier to find. I bet they wouldn't fit if I did find one. Seems people were much shorter back then.

Even though the pictures aren't in color, the busy prints just make me swoon!
