What I'm Wearing

Untitled-1

skirt: vintage
shirt: vintage
boots: vintage
beret: vintage
sunglasses: vintage

I'm feeling a bit broken hearted this morning. If you look verrryyy closely in every one of my photos you'll notice a small silver bracelet on my right wrist. It's not a fancy, expensive bracelet but it was my very favorite thing. It's been on my wrist for about seven years, every day, 24 hours a day. Yesterday afternoon I looked down while I was making lunch and realized it was no longer there. I searched everywhere I could think but by the time I noticed it was missing I'd already been out running errands and it could be anywhere in a ten mile radius. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never see it again. I have to say, I feel quite naked without it.

i know how you feel. i have a favorite heart locket, and one day, it just wasn't there anymore. it still nags at the back of my mind every now and then.

that said, these are some of my favorite photos I've seen on your blog... so beautiful and perfectly vintage without the slightest hint of kitsch. Besides, bikes in photos kind of always make photos better, that and the beautiful light.

Snowshoe

I love the autumn palette! Argh it's horrible when that happens. I feel your pain after recently dropping one of my favourite, sort of china-like vintage necklaces, onto a marble floor. Typical. So of course the whole thing smashed into little pieces.

You look so pretty! I love the beret. :)

Sorry to hear about the bracelet loss! I know how heartbreaking it is to loose something that has been such a part of one's daily "look" for ages... It's a long shot, but hopefully it'll turn up! :)

The same thing happened to me years ago with my bracelet that was my favourite great uncle's old silver fob chain from the 1800's that NEVER leaves my wrist. Well, it fell off at University one day and I thought I'd never see it again but some kind soul found it and I got it back. It can happen, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

rreally lovely pictures, I paticularly like that skirt length on you, just that bit more sophistocated more so than mid-thigh. Condolences regarding the bracelett! I hope this is an opportunity to find a new something special too though.

sad about your bracelet :-(
I've lost important jewelry before, the sting lasts for such a while. Hopefully you find a sweet replacement soon.

I'm sorry about your bracelet, seven years is a long time for that bracelet to stay on your wrist!!!! I wonder if it was a faulty clasp or if it was in the stars for you two to go your separate ways... either way, I hope you find it somewhere!

I've really been loving your fall outfits!!!! I wish you'd come here and put some outfits together for me because I'm just not ready for this and I keep dressing with warm weather in mind!

Thanks so much for your sentiments about my bracelet. I'm searching for a replacement since I'm quite sure I won't see the old one again. The main problem is I have quite small wrists and most bracelets are too big.

Snowshoe: So sorry to hear about your heart necklace. I know exactly how you were feeling! And I agree about the bikes in photos. Always better. ;)

Jayne: Thanks! I suppose miracles happen but I don’t expect to see it again. 

Nina: Thanks so much. In the grand scheme of things I know it’s not too bad to lose a bracelet but I’m still a bit sore about it. Sorry to hear you’ve gone through the same.

Jade: That story about your necklace made me cringe! So sorry!

Casey: Thanks! I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Svenskaussie: Wow, it’s amazing that your bracelet was returned. Especially since it was a family heirloom.

Ashleigh: Thanks so much! Actually I wear a 6.5 shoe and I’m pretty attached to these. ;)

Key: It’s funny you say that because I did actually buy it in Mexico! I wish I had a better photo of it to show you. I loved it because it was quite small and actually fit my wrist.

Effie: I’d love to come play stylist for you! ;) I think I’m particularly enjoying this fall weather because after living in fall-free LA for three years and trying to force my way into a winter coat, I’m loving the cooler air and the chance to wear things I couldn’t out there.

I love the pictures and the outfit!

It's really sad to loose something you've had for a long time. Somtimes if I've lost somehting I try to tell myself it's only a thing and nothing more but it still feels sad...
