The Heimstone Jacket
jacket: Heimstone
dress: Topshop
sweater: vintage
wool tights: Mastermind
boot: vintage (I'm sort of wishing I hadn't sold these!)
purse: vintage
I was thrilled to be asked to take part in the Modepass traveling jacket project. I had worked with Beth on a similar project and knew how much fun it was to see how different people would style the same piece of clothing. When it was my turn to wear the jacket I knew I wanted to pair it with a feminine dress to contrast its structured military style. My inspiration came from the colorful leaves that were still changing and blanketing the ground as they fell from the trees. It also happened to be freezing cold that day so a lot of layers were in order. I stuck with an autumn color palette and piled on a sweater and wool tights. Tomorrow the jacket travels all the way to Punky B.

I love everything about your outfit. The boots and the jacket stand out (Aww, too bad you sold the boots)! You look like a bee bathing in a honey heaven with those beautiful fallen leaves!
Very cute! I love the floral dress! :o)
Your outfit is one of my favorites! And I love that picture of you sitting in the leaves. So beautiful!
That photo of you sitting in the leaves is beautiful. What a great idea!
i love the outfit. the black/brown mix is perfection. and the tights look so warm and opaque - where did you get them?
it looks great on you! i like that picture with the leaves!
Thanks everyone!
athena: Wow! That's quite a vision.
Q's Daydream: Thanks! I rarely reach for this dress in my closet but when I do, I always wonder why I don't wear it more often.
Elizabeth & E: Thanks! I was a bit obsessed with those gingko leaves when they started to fall.
Ramona West: Thanks! It's sort of a long story about the tights... The store where I used to work in LA gave out store credit every year for the holidays. It was a super expensive boutique and the only time I could ever afford to buy anything was with my store credit. So, I got the tights there. The store is called Maxfield and the tights are by Mastermind (a Japanese designer). I think they retailed for about $180.
i have been obsessed with the color of your sweater for the past couple of months. love!
omg this outfit is amazing, so autumn! the dress is adorable, the quintessential tea dress and the jacket is truly divine! you have one of my favorite styles out there!
Love the whole setting: your clothes and the atmosphere with the fallen leaves.
you look stunning as usual! i love the colours in your photographs x
i always wonder if you ever have sellers remorse!
also - where do you find wool tights?

If that jacket ever came to me, I would probably kidnap it, move to a far away country, and change my name.
These pix look like they should be in a magazine!
Of all the ways I've seen this jacket worn, I think this is my fave
I think I love you.
Again.
Wow, I think this is the best Heimstone outfit yet!
Thanks so much everyone for all of your sweet comments.
copperoranges: I got these tights at a store where I used to work in LA. I've never seen any this thick anywhere else. I wish I had!
Great styling here! This is an absolutely lovely look, and the jacket is gorgeous!!

I love your style! btw, can i link your blog? :)
Gingko trees are my favorite tree!! You look absolutely gorgeous sitting in the fallen leaves. I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, peace and love.

When I saw your pic, I let out a sigh and started melting. Brown is my favorite color, and your picture shows why. I live in a tropical country, so that wearing that wouldn't be appropriate here (unless you wanted to get looks). Your outfit makes me wish we had fall here.
First time i visit your blog, i love the way the pictures are taken !
The combination with the dress is beautiful, very nice purse..
I love that purse.
i love your outfit ;-)
