What I'm Wearing

1
photos by Tom b.

shirt: UO
skirt: vintage
tights: AA
hat & purse: vintage
shoes: Seychelles via UO

On our drive down to my parents' cabin through rural Alabama, the roadsides are dotted with these sorts of abandoned houses. Not being able to pass up an opportunity to snoop around we, of course, stopped to take photos. This place was locked up tight but looking through the windows we could see that all of the original furniture was still arranged in the living room, sitting untouched for no telling how many years. Like a time capsule! We snapped a few photos for the blog and then I went around back to try and lure the cats that were living under the porch out to play while Tom took more photos.

We're safely back home now but I have a few more photos from our trip that I'll be posting over the next few days. We didn't have an internet connection while we were at the cabin so I couldn't post the photos as we took them. I have to say, looking back at these photos makes me a little sad to come back to the cold when I was walking around comfortably in short sleeves just a few days ago. I think that might be the first inkling that I'm getting ready for warmer weather.

What awesome pictures!
By me in CT, there is a peninsula of abandonded houses that used to be a summer beach community complete with carnival grounds and a theater. Like the house you described, they all have original furniture, cars, etc. Some of the houses even have tables all set for dinner - extremely creepy! If you're interested in abandoned places, you might want to check out the pictures!

You manage to make this abandoned little house look like a million dollars here... I think it's the shoes. What amazing shoes!

Lovely shoes! You could walk around in short sleeves, I couldn't, it's freezing here! We haven't even had a glimpse of the warmer weather yet... not that I mind much, I love the cold and the possibility to wear lots of layers of clothing. Anyway, Happy New Year! *

Your shoes look great. You have the most amazing knack of finding awesome vintage inspired finds. It wasn't until I read the first post about shoes that I realised they weren't vintage!

i love how dilapidated the porch is!!
i wonder who it belongs to now, if you could have the furniture inside, you know - finders keepers!!!

OMG! i live in birmingham, alabama but have lots of family in south (read: extremely rural) alabama and pass these houses all the time! i always want to stop and take photos but my bf is paranoid an old red-neck is gonna shoot us for being on his property.
that and i obviously do not travel in style like you do! you look awesome here!
i'd love to know where this was taken!

Hello !!!
Your style is beautiful, your outfits so nice and the background amazing !!! The photos are outstanding ! I was wondering which photo softwear are you using to give them a vintage/old style ? I am looking desperately for one of those softwear, is it photoshop ?
Thanks !!!
