Let's Hear It for the Boys

I'm often guilty of completely ignoring the men's fashion photos on street style sites. Lately I've been trying to take more notice to see what kind of inspiration I can draw from the images. Inspiration for me doesn't have to be as literal as seeing an outfit and copying it from head to toe. The first guy here reminds me that I really want a bag like his. Really, really want one. The second photo makes me think putting together and orphan-Oliver type outfit would be a lot of fun. I know I have a little boy's denim jacket hiding somewhere in the back of my closet that I need to dig out after seeing the third guy's jacket. And the last photo reminds me how much I love the combination of black, brown and grey.

I want that first bag too! It looks like the ones Ranna of Only Shallow often shows in her post. And I adore the outfit in the last picture: great for that boy and, adapted, would look amazing on a girl as well :-)

I only just saw the picture of that man and his bag earlier today and fell in love! Such a great peice!

I've been cracking ou the denim jackets a lot lately! I seem to get drawn to them whenever i'm op-shopping. My latest denim aquisition has a orange fluffly collar of a bath mat consistancy, so feral and ugly , but so perfect in it's own way!

Wonderful post! Really inspires me to not skip over those pictures too!

I really like the deep plum color of the first guy's scarf and the way it bounces off the blue and brown

you know, inspiration is pretty hard to stumble upon for men. I'm only surround by ridiculous neon pants, oversized shirts, etc.

Great choices. I love boy style, I tend to get the most inspiration from these fashionable guys!! Hey, I've never shamelessly asked anyone before, but I would love to be on your blogroll, you've been on mine since I started in Dec 2007. No worries if you don't add, love love your blog. :-)

Did you notice how they all have cuffed pants? That's bizarre. I like these.

Thanks so much for all of your comments! I'm so glad you enjoyed these as much as I did.

AlicePleasance: Yes, I'm always in awe of Ranna's bag!

Amelia: No, I didn't notice that! Thanks for pointing it out. I might have to try that myself.

Well, I can't say I am on the cutting edge of fashion. I have a pair of jeans that are a little narrower at the ankles (which I don't like) and I have seen guys wearing this style, and I just have never been a fan of it. That's just one guy's opinion...

I used to dress exactly like that first guy all the time! Minus the bag. I need one of those too!
