You can hide in the sun 'till you see the light...*

[2]
top: 50s rayon blouse
skirt: 70s floral cotton
shoes: vintage t-straps
purse: 40s mini gladstone
* listening to: Dio "Holy Diver" (I can't get this song out of my head)

The other day Tom and I went to check out this abandoned house someone had recommended we see. A lot of the places we explore are in some state of ruin with roofs caved in and birds living amongst the rooms and just general disarray. But this house was still quite intact. It had the most amazing flocked wallpaper in nearly every room. At some point hideous carpet had been laid over the original hardwoods in nearly every color of the rainbow. Each room was a different color! Who would do that?! My favorite part of these places is how the light seems so different than in normal houses.

Beautiful pics...I always like going into abandoned homes that still give reference to a certain time period and they type of people that lived there.

You look right at home there :) One of my favorite outfits yet by the way. And people just tell you about the homes? I really need to get myself a real estate savvy friend, I guess!

Your skirt is beautiful as are the photos. I don't know if you were talking about the light in the rooms where you took the photos, but they came out very well. They remind me of the general feeling I get from some 70's films I've watched lately.

Something about the fact that it isn't totally crumbling is more creepy than usual! And you always look so effortless!

I remember when one of our family friends moved into a house near here, each room was a different color and the carpet matched! There was this weird spot in the hallway where you could see where all the colors touched. It was weird.

That house feels like the type that inspires all kinds of creativity. I also love the wallpaper in the 2nd photo- very vintage.

Such amazing photos! Makes me think of an old house we looked at when we were buying a place--same horrifying shag carpet.

That house is so cute! Shame about the ugly carpet, it's always tragic when beautiful wood floors are covered up. How did you get into this house? Was it locked up? Whenever I explore abandoned houses they're all falling down and you can just go right in, but this place looks like you'd have to break a window or pick a lock to get in. You look wonderful as ever of course.

Hi! I was looking through your photos on this wardrobe remix page. The locations all looked diverse and beautiful. So I looked at your profile to see what state you lived in and it said Pennsylvania. I was so excited and confused at the same time. hahaah. I live in York PA and I can never seem to find good places to find pictures.

It sounds like a crazy ugly house to live in but a unique lovely house to visit! Especially for outfit pictures.
