Ralph Lauren

a

I have a terrible habit of only looking at the collections of the few usual suspects come Fashion Week. You know the ones... Marc, Luella, Chloe, et al. I just can't muster the energy to dig through all of the collections season after season. Who has the time!? But by doing this, I'm always afraid I'll miss out on something great. Such is the case with this Ralph Lauren collection (at least the first half - he loses me around the time the baby-blue-shiny-satiny concoctions make their appearance). It's not a collection that I would usually check out but I'm so glad I stumbled across it.

I guess since he's the all-American designer it makes sense that he would pull inspiration from one of the hallmarks of American history - The Great Depression. I love all the feedsack florals and white socks with oxfords. Not to mention a lot of the looks are topped off with adorable cloche hats. It's not enough to make me wish it was still summer, but I'm sure I'll be happy to look back on these looks once the hot weather does roll back around.

Thanks for posting! I love the dreamy flora prints! The blue flora dress with the postboy cap is such an adorable outfit!

I love the brown oxfords with white socks. I've been seeing oxfords everywhere lately.

that overall look is just killing me! i have worn-in (out?) overalls from college that i now only garden in, but perhaps they will have to make their way back into regular rotation next spring!

Wow, I really love all the dress. I adore floral patterns and these are so pretty. I just love the blue floral one, and the white with the bright red buttons! Thanks for sharing :)

nice find! this definitely much more wearable than typical Ralph, but I could totally see myself frolicking around farm fields in these outfits. I particularly adore the oxfords, it feels so functional!

I love the florals + white socks + brown oxfords combination. Seems like something a blogger would wear.

You're right. Don't 'lock' yourself in with those special favourite few designers. Pick the eyes out of each.
The bottom two photos are my favourites. Especially the one on the right. I can just imagine her wafting around in the flat from yesterday's post. Which by the way I keep staring at, trying to abosorb every special little detail. Have a lovely weekend. :)

I sometimes look at everything and sometimes only my favorites and the rest from blogs.

They're Double RL dresses--not traditional polo. I'm COMPLETELY obsessed, myself.

the white sox with oxfords look is so elaine bennis. in fact the whole look: sox, shoes, dress, pretty much screams elaine sans the bad perm.
