Sneak Peek for Etsy Update!

I spent a long, somewhat frustrating day taking photos for a much overdue Etsy update. I love this new studio space but it is showing its unique challenges as I try to adjust to a new lighting situation. It took me quite a while today to figure out the right camera settings to get the photos looking the way I want them to. No, my wall didn't change colors ten times today, that's little ol' me trying to work out a white balance issue. Just as I figured it out, the sun was going down and I lost the chance to finish up. Argh...

So, while they aren't quite ready to be posted in the store, I thought I'd give you a little peek at what I was working on. This is the first batch of dress but I also have a pile of lovely skirts and blouses that I'll be getting to this week as well. As far as the question of when these pieces will be available, I'm going to cross my fingers and say Thursday. Maybe if I put it in writing, it'll force me to buckle down and make it happen!

Once again, thanks so, so much for stickin' with me through this little transition period. All of your kind words and thoughtful comments really brighten my day!

hehe, this made me giggle! when I first moved I had the same problem. then when I had it all figured out my camera broke! I've got a new one, so it's better, but that white balance sure is important isn't it!? lol

Lovely dresses! :o)

I feel your pain. My friend used to be my model for my Etsy shop, but it was too hard to work out our schedules, so I moved to a dress form and set out to find a spot in my house with good lighting. I think I spent two hours photographing clothes... and when I uploaded them, I discovered the coloring was ALL off and I would have to rephotograph everything, because it was too much trouble to fix in Photoshop. A total nightmare. Good luck!

i've moved so much in the past 3 years, so i know just how frustrating and challenging this can be. i still haven't figured how the right way to photograph pieces in my newest home.

your photos still look great, though. and i'm sure once you figure out the kinks it'll be smooth sailing!

I completely understand your frustration with the photos. It's so hard to find an aesthetically pleasing background that actually has good lighting, and then make all the necessary camera adjustments!

I just opened up Audrey Leona Vintage on Etsy and I am struggling right there with you.

But, it's looking marvelous! And beautiful dresses...

I know you said you miss your brick wall but this new background looks great!!! That's actually the color of my bedroom. I think its lovely and really blends well with the antique-ness of the mannequin and the dark hardwood floors. I love the whole shabby chic interior.
