Happy Valentine's Day: Win $100 from LA Vintage!

Untitled-2

In a long line of me being the last to know, I recently discovered the online vintage shop LA Vintage. How could this have flown under my radar for so long?! I have since spent way too much time getting lost in their vast selection of vintage clothes, shoes, bag and so much more. They carry pieces in a wide range of sizes from the 50s to the 80s and every piece is unique. There's currently a 50s crochet blouse sitting in my closet acquired from the shop that I'm dying to wear once the weather turns warmer. So, when they contacted me about doing a give-away on my blog it was sort of a no brainer! I think the shop is quite lovely and if you haven't checked it out yet, now is the perfect time.

Here's the deal... all you have to do is hop over to LA Vintage, browse around the site (trust me, it won't be painful - ha, ha) and then leave a comment on this post telling me how you'd spend a hundred buckaroos in the shop. It's that easy! The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to spend in the shop however they like.

I'll be taking comments until Friday when a winner will be randomly selected. The contest is open to everyone, international readers included. Please be sure that your comment includes a way for me to get in touch with you either via a blog link or your email.

LA Vintage has the loveliest dresses! I've been looking for the perfect 50's day dress and they have it-the Claire Mint dress is PERFECT! They also have some absolutely lovely boots and oxfords that I would sell my soul for :) I would love to win the contest, but even if I don't, I have a feeling I'll be patronizing their store.

P.S. I adore your blog. I read it while I eat my oatmeal every morning :) also, if I do win (please, please, please let it be me!) You can contact me at ebrunner4816@gmail.com

I love LA Vintage! So many gorgeous things in one shop... so bad for my budget! :) And I absolutely love the "size-browser" (what would you call that??) thing. Marvel of modern technology, that is - now I don't even have to see the things that wouldn't fit and be tempted by them. When that happens I usually end up gasping in a dress with a tiny waist which I should never, ever have bought haha.

Anyway, I would spend $100 on the 60s Go Go Pastel dress, and throw in $15 extra of my own to add the Kenzie Platforms, which are so perfect I might have stopped breathing for a second when I saw them!

I would go for trying to put together a whole outfit with $100.
I'd start with an interesting dress like the Evita Floral dress ($62)

Then I'd look for a pair of shoes, maybe something like the 80s slouchy booties from the sale section.

and of course I'd have to finish everything off with a pair of sunglasses, like the Darkness glasses.
Either that or I'd just go totally crazy buying lovely vintage accessories.

Oh my! How could you possibly only spend $100 at LA Vintage? By just scanning through their wonderful clothes, shoes and accessories I really wish I was payed more. There dresses are things that I covet with all my heart. There 1950's section I just adore, and I wish every time I look at another beautiful picture that I could own what they are selling.

If in fact I did have a hundred bucks to spend(the thought is fantastic!), at first I wouldn't know how to start. But after some deep breaths I'm sure I would find a lovely dress or two that would fit the bill. Or maybe a cute pair of shoes...so many choices!

I don't have a blog(I wish I had the time), but my name is Emily and you can reach me at emilyalaska22@yahoo.com. Have fun picking the winner! <3

I spent most of my life in jeans and t-shirts. Weary of this wardrobe, I have begun as of about a year ago to wear skirts and dresses. this is a slow process considering I am not blessed with expendable wealth. A few things that caught my eye:
http://www.lavintage.com/The-Brown-Hibiscus-Dress-50s.htm
http://www.lavintage.com/Drench-Wench-Dress-70s.htm

In addition to these...growing up in Phoenix has unfortunately influnced my bad habit of wearing flip flops yearly. It is a habit that his since been broken since my move to the midwest. The downside is my recent love of footwear has not been satisfied due to the same lack of finances that cripple my ability to get pretty dresses. I liked these:

When I was little I wouldn't wear jeans save for one gorgeous little floral pair - honestly, I was so terribly sad when I grew out of them - - I kept them for a few years hoping I would magically shrink?!? So, it's easy, I would buy the Darla Floral Jeans for $51 - a grown-up pair to replace the ones I loved when I was 10!!!
The tosca nightie is beautiful and I wish I had it to wear for valentine's day!!! But with this and the jeans I am well over $100 and would certainly be happy with either piece!!!
In any case, a wonderful place to find lovely vintage treasures!

Ah, LOVE the searching by size function!! Definitely will be a repeat visitor to their site. I didn't find any tops that would work, that's my main wardrobe goal right now, but I could definitely go for a dress, a pair of shoes, and then a tooled leather bag--I've been lusting after one for awhile but just haven't been able to bring myself to that just yet.

It's funny.... I'm a 90s kid, and I just can't get used to seeing the floral print prairie dresses and babydolls going as "vintage." I remember the moment they looked dated, sometime around 95, and now they look fresh again. Makes me feel elderly. And like I'll never throw anything out again.

Despite that I found some lovely stuff at LAVintage. With 100 bucks in my pocket I'd take:

Memphis Boots (9.5! I can't believe they have my size... usually vintage is for the teensy-footed) and the "80s brown squares bag."

That leaves a little cash left over. I liked some of the accessories. Maybe brown leather gloves.

If I have the $100 GC, I'd buy the Claudia Swimsuit, a pair of the rainbow huaraches, and the rest of the money will go to sunglasses. The weather here in the Philippines is already summery. :)

I'm newly following your blog, and I probably shouldn't be writing this on your V-day post, but its the only one of the many love posts that I've come across which has made me smile.

I'm not even kidding when I write this, no joke, my bf of 2 years broke up with me on Sunday morn.. I can't quite believe it still and its Tues in Australia..

So, I'd spend the $$ on mending my shattered heart, the best way I know how- vintage shopping. I'd buy the "Gray cap sleeves 70s" dress and add some of my own $$ to get the "Notations Top 80s" too!

Thanks for sharing a great site too. Sorry to blab, C ya.

Wow, it would be so difficult to choose! I'm so torn between the Ms. Grinch 1960's Coat, the Renee Bow heels, and the 1950's Winter Romance Cardigan. I would probably have to add some extra cash and purchase all three!

What a great shop!

i feel like sometimes it's IMPOSSIBLE for us not so tiny girls to find great vintage stuff online. looking through the etsy shops of my favorite bloggers i stare at a selection of adorable things in xs and s, but very rarely do i find an l. luckily, this isn't the case with la vintage. they've got all kinds of amazing dresses, coats, skirts and blouses for those of us with a little bit of meat on our bones.

i'd probably drop the money on a new dress (like the sunflower blues dress or j taylor new york dress) and spend the rest on a cool new pair of flats to tie it all together.

i'm a huge sucker for vintage nighties and swimwear! i love the 70s Citrus Peel Suit...wish it wasn't sold out!

I had a peek at the website. I couldn't believe how many dresses have sleeves that stop at the elbows! Burn scars cover half of my back and my left arm to the elbow - I'm not ashamed of them, but I don't show them off. It really limits my wardrobe options, especially since I'm an idiot who can't stand layering.

I really love vintage floral dresses ... I think the two I would have to go for would be the lovely 50s Botanical Scent Dress, with a floral print that matched everything, and the 80s Ellyn Floral Dress, which just has such an amazing shape.

Aah, my first comment after almost a year (?) of lurking :)

From the LA Vintage shop I'd probably buy just shoes. And probably for more than 100$...just seeing so many pretty flats and heels in my size (high street fashion has been getting more and more dissapointing, and I don't have the money to the designer shoes that cause my heart to skip a beat) is making me so happy.

If I get to be the lucky winner, I can be contacted at tuntematon_olento@hotmail.com

How would I spend a hundred buckaroos? QUICKLY! Look at all the beautiful pieces already sold!

I am such a 60s girl and I really like the Gloria Skirt, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't pass up the Claire Mint Dress from the 50s if it were still available. It's beautiful and has a similar vibe to the dress Zooey Deschanel's character wore as a wedding guest in 500 Days of Summer. Just lovely!

I only recently began building my vintage wardrobe so I would also spend this prize very gratefully, too. Thanks for the chance to win! My e-mail is kntimko at gmail dot com.

I can never find any good vintage shoes on my own, because I have big feet! I can't tell you how often I come across the perfect pair in a thrift store and they are a size seven. Always with the size sevens! Sigh.
But this store, with so many size 9's in one place..? I could easily spend a hundred bolstering my feeble shoe collection.

Thanks!

I love LA Vintage. I sometimes spend hours parusing around the site for cute finds. The problem is that I barley buy anything because it's out of my price range so this contest is perfect. I've been eyeing the Lilia Ruffle dress for ages so with the $100 I would definitley buy that. I would also get the T strap Low Wedges and the Baske Box Bag. I would buy everything if I could, but I'm pretty sure that would cost way over $100.

Oh my good gravy boat! There is far too much to choose from. Some of those dresses are going to haunt my dreams, but if I had to choose something to spend money on I can't help but cave in on the 80s flowers and peacocks shorts and those tapestry granny boots. Make a statement, AND spread some floral joy in the upcoming late winter/early spring looks.

You're an absolute doll. Thank you for doing this!

Kiss.
