I'm here for adventure, whichever way it comes...

1

- striped 60s shirt dress
- brown 80s flats
- vintage John Romain purse
- thrifted braided belt
- Jakob Dylan - Women & Country "Nothing But the Whole Wide World"

You can tell I'm not longer accustomed to taking my own blog photos. Thus the sort of concerned/pissed-off look on my face in these snapshots. There were quite a few people out walking and enjoying the nice weather in the park, so I had quite a few curious onlookers wondering what the crazy girl with the tripod was doing running around taking photos of herself.

Spring seems to be coming and going right now, one day being nice and sunny and the next being rainy and dull. The rain is wreaking a bit of havoc on our home renovations but I think the light is at the end of the tunnel (did I say that last week too?).

P.S. If you're interested, I did a little interview over at La Mimi. You can see it here.

If it's any consolation for your pissed-off face, I think your photos are gorgeous! I mean, geez, the colors in the first one reminded me of a painting. It's lovely, that's nothing to be mad about. :)

i'm so lucky Arkansas hasn't been experiencing the weather schizophrenia of sunshine and rain. We just have lots of sunshine over here. And I loved your comment the other day about that gang of girls passing you while taking photos! Ahh... I can't even begin to tell you the many different types of people I've experienced while out. I just can't figure out why everyone is so nosy! The other day I was taking photos in a more trafficked area and these two boys (probably 15 or so) posted up by a tree right in front of me. I was like, what do you think this is, a show?? I stopped and told them I wasn't going to continue shooting until they left because it was awkward. They argued for a minute and then left the same way they came. Weird.

Aww I can only imagine the odd stares you got! But hey, you still turned out some pretty amazing photos. Everything looks so calm and beautiful. Your outfit of course is as delicious as ever. (:

Wow! I can't believe you did these shots yourself! The funny thing is, I feel like my self-photography is more natural. When the hubs takes my pictures, he's always teasing me about the faces I make!

Beautiful setting. Beautiful photos.

The location and these shots are stunning! I think the dress and outfit is a great pair up with those blossoms and water. Perfect!

It's funny but I had a similar experience yesterday.
I got part way "done up" for my 52 week project at Flickr..new red spring jacket...vintage white frame jackie-o type sunglasses and red red red lips (and silver glittery flats and workout type bottoms...I was in a rush and the photo was only from the chest up) No harm right?

Well, I walked out my front door into my relatives who were making their rounds to visit. Gah. They took one look and me and said "Where are you GOING??"
I started laughing and had to explain I'd be back as soon as I finished taking my own photo.

Ridiculous.

I get uncomfortable even when Thomas is taking my photos! If there are people anywhere around, they are sure to look at us like we are crazy - why is that? lol

I love this set, btw, it was worth the awkwardness because it's gorgeous!

beautiful colors in that dress! and love the last photo :D

Ooh, I just love your dress! The earth toned stripes are so charming. And the setting is gorgeous as well. Well worth the awkwardness of taking the photos yourself. Why do people stare? It's so rude! Haven't they ever seen someone getting their picture taken before?

Longs Park? The trees and your outfit are lovely! The park in Litiz is really beautiful as well, might be a good location for the summer.

Wow, I like your dress!!!

Concerned or not, you're very brave! I'm still warming up to the idea of a tripod. That tree with the pink branches makes a really sweet back drop, and I especially like your composition in the last photo. So, no more concerned-face, they look lovely.

That park looks so nice. I need to take a visit to our park with a mini lake! Taking photos in the park (can I say park more times?) is definitely a lesson in not giving a fuck, cause that's the only option! I took some photos recently in the park and it was super busy, but amazingly enough no one talked to me! Maybe it was because I went in with such a "I'M TAKING PHOTOS, DEAL WITH IT" attitude that it projected to the crowd... ha. That dress has great colors, last night I pulled out a couple of my 50's dresses and felt bad for not wearing them more!

I really love that last photo, it makes me feel like I'm almost sitting there next to you.

You also always look so amazing in vintage pieces that I go out and put on similar dresses but mostly just look silly. You have a great eye.

These are really good photos! I have a hard time taking photos with just my tripod too now! It's weird to be happy for a tripod I guess...

I love everything in your photos though...the trees, your outfit!
