The Lace Factory

Sally Jane Vintage: Lace Factory from Tom b. on Vimeo.

Over the past couple of weeks you've seen lots of photos from inside the abandoned lace factory. Now it's finally time to show you what we were really up to in there! After seeing video lookbooks from several of my favorite designers (dace, Alexandra Grecco & Lover among others) I had the itch to try something similar. I've been thinking about it for ages but since we don't have any experience with this sort of thing it took a while for us to figure out how to go about it. When Tom suggested we shoot inside the lace factory I knew that would be the perfect place.

I have to say a huge thank you to Tom for shooting and editing the whole thing! I'm super happy with the way it turned out even though I have to admit it's a little strange seeing myself in the video. I could barely watch the first time Tom showed it to me. Hopefully next time we do this, I won't be quite so self-conscious in front of the camera! I'm used to photos but video was a whole new ballgame. I hope you like it!

This was great!! It was really cool to see the big piece of lace and those strands on whatever machine it was... that stuff is gigantic! I loved the video, I'll take as much lace factory as you want to throw at me.

this is f-ing adorable! absolutely love it ... but i understand about the whole barely being able to watch yourself at first ...

I feel the same way when my dad pulls out the home videos of me back in the days of speech impediments and stir up pants.
