Let me start by saying a HUGE thank you to all of the gals who pitched in with guest posts in my absence last week. I'll second what Siri said in her post... you gals are a hard act to follow! I knew it would be great, but all of my expectations were blown away! It was so much fun to tune into the blog everyday and be greeted by another wonderful surprise. Thank you all so very much!

All of their help afforded me a much needed and much enjoyed break. I spent the entire week in Alabama visiting family. It's always nice to go home for a while and not think about work! Now that I'm back though... back to work it is! I'll be hard at work tomorrow shipping out all the orders that piled up while I was away. If you bought something from the Etsy shop last week, thanks for your patience and your package will be on its way tomorrow.

Just before I left I picked up this 30s wool jacket at the new vintage store in Lancaster that I mentioned previously (I'm not trying to be cryptic, I just can't remember the name of it... it used to be Zap Home). I saw it hanging there when I visited a few weeks ago and hadn't been able to stop thinking about it. I was sure it wouldn't fit, as these types of jackets are usually too big for me, but as soon as I slipped it on, I knew it had to be mine! It's so incredibly warm! It's so true when you hear that things just aren't made the way they used to be. My favorite part is the plaid collar zips up to become a hood.

I wore it today when Tom and I went out for a walk and to run boring errands like going to the bank and mailing bills. On our way home we cut through the cemetery that holds my most favorite tree in all of Lancaster. It's a giant ginkgo that blankets the ground with its bright yellow leaves every fall. It's usually the last tree to turn and drop its leaves and I excitedly await the change every year. I was afraid I would miss it while I was away but it was all golden and perfect when I got home.

I love the sailor-collar style of your jacket, and the fact that it turns into a hood makes it even more brilliant!! I love those lace up boots and camel coloured beret, they look so perfect next to the golden leaves. Glad you had such a nice break, it was lovely reading all the guest posts.

I love ginkgo trees! They're the most ancient of all trees, genetically speaking. Their leaves are so soft and beautiful, and they really do form a blanket. I have a lot of awesome childhood memories of having ginkgo leaf fights at my elementary school.

That jacket is AMAZING also! That zip-up hood has the greatest lining ever. It looks wonderful on you :)
