Etsy Update

2

These boots are made for walkin' and that's just what they'll do! Do you hate me for getting that song stuck in your head? I hate me just a little bit for getting in stuck in my head. ;) Here's a look at the items I added to the Etsy shop today. Six lovely pairs of suede boots in an array of colors and size.

Central Market

What a lovely weekend it was! On Saturday Tom and I walked downtown to Central Market. I'm sure I've mentioned the market here before. It's the oldest continuously functioning farmer's market in the US and it's where all of the local farms and Amish come to sell their fruits and veggies and baked goods. If you're ever there, you must try the fresh pressed Amish apple juice. Seriously amazing!

The rest of the weekend was just as lovely. There was sunshine and blue skies and pancake breakfasts. On Sunday Tom and I headed out to the sort of touristy outlet mall to look for jeans. I've decided there just aren't any new jeans that fit me! I even tried on boys jeans... no winners. Now it's already Monday morning and time to get back to work. I'm going to be updating the shop every day this week the rest of my fall/winter stock to make way for all of the spring things I've been saving up! I'm sort of excited to see the shop full of florals and sundresses and sandals.

Tree & Kimball Necklace Giveaway

giveaway

This week I have an exciting giveaway for you from Tree & Kimball. Lisa, the creative mind behind the Etsy shop, used to be a designer for Anthropologie (sounds fun, right?) before she decided to pursue her own jewelry business.

Her jewelry is constructed of vintage and reclaimed lace with an emphasis on the romantic. This week she'll be giving one of her Didrika necklaces to one of you! Just hop on over to her shop to have a look around then leave a comment on this post to register to win (make sure your comment includes your blog link or email address). I'll announce the luck winner one week from today.

Spring is Nigh

3-5-10

- turn of the century silk blouse
- 50s navy skirt
- Target knee highs
- 30s pumps
- vintage Gladstone style bag
- men's vintage bow tie

Look how happy I am to have some warm-ish weather! I'm actually smiling. Ha, ha. Seriously, it's amazing how warm 42 can feel when the sun is shining. Next week is calling for the 50s. Woo-hoo!

As far as what I'm wearing, I love when outfits come together as organically as this one. This is not at all what I planned on wearing when I woke up this morning. Then I saw this blouse hanging on my Etsy rack - I had it listed in the store for a few months and it never sold so I just let the listing expire. I thought I'd try it again (I wore it a few times before I decided to sell it) and really loved it. I don't quite know why I thought I wanted to sell it.

The shoe/sock combo was inspired by all of the spring collections I've been seeing with socks and sandals. I stocked up on some lightweight socks last time I was at Target and really love them. If you're looking for some, I'd definitely check there. I think technically these are "trouser socks". I'm not usually one to wear bows in my hair but this one was inspired by the Orla Kiely girls in the spring 10 lookbook. I'm not completely sold on it, but I did like the way it pulled the skirt and top together.

Etsy Update

I'm feeling a little blue day. Well, not really... but the shop is! Here's a look at the pieces I've just added to the Etsy shop. Be sure to drop by and check them out along with all the other goodies I've added this week.

BBW Spring/Summer 10

a

Here's a look at yet another spring collection. This time it's from Built By Wendy. I tend to oscillate between liking and disliking their collections. I was not a big fan of the last fall/winter collection so true to the trend, I am quite fond of this spring one. I'm loving the simple black/white/blue color pallet and the stripes are classy and timeless. They look like the kind of clothes you could throw on without much fussing and look cute and comfy all day.
