Street Styles

I have to admit that I'm living quite a frugal fashion life right now. I think that the lack of new purchases forces me to be more creative with what I have in my closet and I like the idea of that. Looking over my favorite street style photos from the last couple of weeks has given me lots of great ideas on how to incorporate pieces I already own into new looks.
  • First, from HelLooks, I love the casual mix of colors and textures in this girl's outfit. It's effortless in that just-put-on-the-first-thing-I-grabbed sort of way that I can never quite accomplish.
  • Next is a shot from The Sartorialist for style.com. I've seen her pop up on tons of style sites and Beth even did a great collage of her photos but I don't have a clue who she is. Anyone have an idea? I've had this photo in my inspiration folder for a couple of weeks and I finally realized that I pretty much have everything she's wearing hanging in my closet. Not literally of course, but I could easily recreate this look.
  • This girl from Style Sightings really takes the cake. She's like Paul Bunyan's adorable niece. Lately I've been steering away from really casual looks but this is making me want to break out my corduroys.
  • I don't usually go for monochromatic looks like this one from Stockholm Street Style. Thinking about it is already making my head feel like it might implode. I'm still not sure if it's something I really want to conquer, but it's certainly making me look in my closet in a whole new way.

I see the common linkage of beret/beanie knit type hats! I am going through exactly the same thing. It's crazy the things you can find when digging through forgotten clothes though!

I assume 'Paul Bunyon' is an Amercian reference, I no idea who you're referring to ????? Love the looks, I agree with you about trying to make what you have work better and mix up the combos, thanks for the great ideas : )

Thanks so much for your comments!

sunset: I didn't evern notice the common link of the berets. I'll have to start wearing mine more.

the offset girl & mandi: Just when I thought I'd already discovered all of the great blogs out there... now I'm addicted to The Glamourai. Thanks for the tip.

svenskaussie: I suppose it is a very American reference. I didn't think of that. Paul Bunyan is a fictional lumberjack.

I'm also having to turn to my own closet for inspiration, rather than spending...I's a challenge, but also sort of makes me feel good. Les waste, I suppose. Thanks for sharing these photos.

Those days can be so difficult! When I feel like I've been through all of my clothes and I just cannot possibly make any other combination, it can be frustrating but so challenging! Great inspirations, they're all adorable.
