Yellow Dresses

Untitled-1

I have always shied away from the color yellow. I always felt like it washed me out and was terribly unflattering. But somewhere along the line, just in the past couple of months really, I've begun to change my mind. I've been on the lookout for the perfect sunny yellow dress for summer. I've found lots of contenders - some way out of my price range (of course) and some a bit more attainable.

The one from Anthropologie is just the best. Why, Anthropologie, are you always reading my mind? Yellow? Check. Silk? Check. Ruffles? Check. But then there's that price tag, mocking me and my measly budget. So... in the end I'm passing on all of these lovelies and breaking out the sewing machine. I found a pattern that I like and I'm going to try my hand at sewing again. We'll see how it goes! Untitled-2

I always do that- like something, realise I can't afford it then start making plans to sew my own. I always start out with good intentions but never follow it through. Either that or I attempt to and end up getting frustrated and giving up! I hope you get on better!

I always avoid the colour yellow, bc I also think it's not flattering for me. Maybe I should give it a try, bc the dresses you show us are just too adorable!

oh good luck! :) I really need to get out my sewing machine again too...

yellow is so lovely, but I agree, it sometimes seems hard to pull off. I think it's perfect for summer though.

The built by wendy one is a lovely shade- not too bold. My favourite design is the one from 3.1 Phillip Lin though!
