The Old Train Station

Old Train Station

photos by Tom b.

- thrifted 80s silk blouse
- vintage faux fur collar
- 60s wool skirt
- H&M coat
- UO tights & boots
- vintage wool beret

While down south we decided to check out this abandoned train station. It sits in the small town where my parent reside and has been out of use for I don't even know how many years despite the fact that the train tracks running along side the station are still active. We were hoping that the inside of the station would would hold some of its original charm but it had become a dumping ground for old electronic equipment and mattresses and other such garbage.

I hadn't planned on leaving my coat on for all of these photos because I wanted you to get a good look at the little furry collar I was wearing. It was my favorite part of the whole outfit! But seriously, you guys... it was so stinkin' cold that afternoon. I'll have to show it to you later.

Have a lovely weekend! Happy 2010!

I seriously almost froze to death on a Thanksgiving photo shoot in my home town of South Lake Tahoe. You can still see it in some pics in my Etsy shop- I just hope folks look at the clothes and not my bright red hands and contorted face!

I am embarrassed to be taking my photos inside now, but it's sooo cold outside in Boston!

That first shot. Superb! The decaying architecture and wild vegetation counterpointed with you at the right angles of the building. Your partner has just a great eye. It beats a magazine editorial any day.

Thanks so much for all of your comments!

Sofie Marie: We're always on the lookout for abandoned places to explore and the South seems to be full of them!

I'll be sure to pass along all of your lovely compliments to Tom as well. He'll be so pleased!
