I've had this little hand beaded collar in my arsenal for several weeks but couldn't quite figure out how to work it into rotation. I kept looking for just the right dress to attach it to but nothing seemed to work. Finally I realized I was limiting myself in only thinking it would work with a dress and voila! I used it to revamp this Gap sweater that I've had for ages. What is it about those black and white stripes that makes one feel so quintessentially French in all the best ways? Oh, and if you look veerry carefully you can see that these photos were taken while I was still in 'Bama. Do you see what I mean? (look in the reflections)

you looks wonderful! that collar is perfect
what a perfect outfit for that collar!
i'm so jealous of the fact that you can be wearing stuff like that outside! here in Montreal no matter what I wear its messied up with big coats, layered tights and always wearing hats means i can never do my hair!
i agree with your statement about the stripes! i wore them on my first day in paris earlier this year because i felt it necessary!! :)
Is that a confederate flag? Oh 'Bama - how we like you anyways. I love the skirt - I keep my eyes peeled for similar skirts at the thrift store all the time! And the collar is adorable.
Love it! I have this crazy thing where whenever I'm wearing a skirt or pants I have to wear a striped top...lol! :o)
Thanks so much for your comments!
Lily: Thanks! I've been wanting to wear it for a while now.
LHE: I know what you mean. Now that I'm back in PA, it's all big winter coats and hats for me too.
indidorchid: Thanks! Actually, it's not a confederate flag. It's the Alabama state flag.
That little collar adds such a great pop to the outfit. It is so cute!
What a great French look :).

love the sweater! been looking for a French-inspired top for ages...still haven't found the perfect one
Lovely pictures & outfit, the skirt is beautiful :)
Your blog is one of the most fabulously vintage blogs I've ever seen! You have a great eye for fashion, good for you :)
so very lovely! i found a nice crochet collar the other day but it was made for someone with a much larger neck (or a top with a much larger neckline) than mine. i'm still on the hunt!
great outfit! I wore a skirt similar to that yesterday.
Tres Chic Sally Jane. Love it !
I love this, and it's refuelled my search for a stripy jumper!
aw, super cute! I read somewhere that separate beaded collars were meant to be worn over sweaters and with sweater twinsets... I have a couple of them and never seem to work them into rotation either!!
you look gorgeous, love the stripy jumper.
love that collar
Your photos and outfits are so beautiful!
I am in love with that collar, and the detail on that collar! You definitely have that je ne sais quois in these photos.
You've cut your hair, haven't you?
Thanks again for all of your wonderful comments!
Lena: No, I haven't cut my hair. It was just bothering me a bit that day so I tucked it into my hat! :)
Such a cute outfit! The little collar really pulls it together.
Awesome. I just made a collar and they are a bit difficult to wear. This looks amazing.
